At the beginner and novice levels, during the start of many guided meditations, Dr Joe uses specific induction techniques to produce changes in the frequency of brainwave patterns.
By following his instructions, your brainwaves will begin to slow down from beta to alpha or theta, thus bypassing the analytical mind and entering the subconscious mind where you will begin to reprogram unwanted habits, emotional states, and behaviors.
For further information regarding the purpose and benefits of this meditation, refer to Chapters 9 – 13 in Dr Joe's book Breaking the Habit Being Yourself. The written form of this meditation can be found in the Appendix of the book.
